House of Photography (Magyar Fotográfusok Háza) is an interesting building not very far from the Opera. Emanuel Mai (1855-1917) was K&K Hoffotograph (the official photographer at the royal court). In 1878 he opened his first shop for photography and soon became a famous and well-payed Photo-artist and Hungary’s best childen-photographer. In 1894 he built the great palais that you may see here.
