The Serbian Church (Szerb Templom) in Pest dates back to the year 1698 when there was a large serbian colony in Budapest. The church was built by Andreas Mayerhofer and has a beautiful Ikonostase by Károly Sterios. The church and the small park around it is somehow like a quiet, small island between huge houses in that area, about halfway between the Elisabeth Bridge and Freedom Bridge. You may enter the park and see cyrillic inscriptions at the cemetery. The church is in “Szerb utca” take Metro #3 untill “Ferenciek tere”.
